Part 71: Adhering To Spookane's Zoning Laws

First things first: delete almost everything. Sam can make use of this base block once it's painted a more morbid shade, but everything else has to go.



Slightly more interesting shape and some spiky fences.



Windows everywhere!



Add a very Gothic roof. So spiky!



A creepy door with archway and some gloomy paint, and we're set.





Goth Boy takes a look at what Sam has accomplished.

: Good work, Sam. Now that's a cookie shop I could get behind.

He turns to face us.

: And now, for the final piece of the puzzle.





I don't think she likes it.

: Oh, dear... oh, dear me... are you absolutely sure this will work, Mr. Goth Boy?

: Trust me, it's perfect!



Ruthie seems uncertain--but what's this?



Success!

: Oh, uh... of course, dear!

Ruthie gives Yuki a cookie. Yuki bites into it like it was a face.



: Yuki will buy many cookies! Do you accept shinies?

: Oh, I'm sure we can work out some kind of deal.

Carl wanders up the path behind us.





: Alright! We can finally get to Castle Morcubus. You ready to learn the meaning of life, Goth Boy?

: After all this, nothing could stop me. Let's go!

: Hooray! Bites on the face for everybody!



Sam and Goth Boy lead the way across the bridge, which leads... into the forecourt of Castle Morcubus itself.



Sam steps forward.







: Morcubus!



: Oh. The do-gooders.

: (I thought the cookie shop would take longer. Anyway... let's do this right...)

And, with an evil laugh...



: Open the door, Morcubus. We're coming in!

"We're the King's Men and we go where we want, including onto private property!"

: Oh, are you?



: It could withstand a thousand tornados without getting a scratch! You'll never get through!

He laughs at us. Evilly, as is required in his contract.





He's still laughing--









Pause.





: How many times--?! Oh, I am SO calling customer support right now.

Morcubus storms off to the phone.



Sam goes over here to open a hidden chest full of Scary, Eyeballs...



... and another new Scroll. But let's get on with the business at hand.



Sam's not really feeling the need to hurry here. A call to MorcuCorp customer service? It'll take hours!
